Over the past decade, the Catrinas Parade has blossomed into a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture, serving as a dazzling prelude to the Day of the Dead. Thousands of participants dress up as 'catrinas' and 'catrines' with elaborate costumes and makeup, symbolizing the union between life and death. The event, which began in 2014 as a citizen initiative to promote Mexican tradition in response to the rise of Halloween, is a manifestation of identity, creativity, and collective memory. It is held annually with a route along Paseo de la Reforma that culminates in the Zócalo.
